Florida in 35mm

This year’s trip to Florida was not what I envisioned when I decided to join my parents for a relaxing week away. A few days after we arrived in Florida, Hurricane Helene made landfall and the barrier island of Siesta Key was hit hard by the storm. I am so grateful my family and I were safe and made it home in one piece, but it was difficult to witness the devastation of a community we consider a second home. Between Hurricane Helene and the most recent Hurricane Milton, most of the places in these images below are no longer the same. My thoughts are with the people (and animals) of Florida as they rebuild anew.

Life Lately in 35mm

Life has been busy. I rarely take out my camera for fun anymore and I am starting to miss it. Nothing beats the thrill of developing your film and waiting to see the memories you captured. One of my goals this year is to be more selective with what I shoot professionally and to start focusing on photography for myself. To fall in love with the art form again without having to monetize it. Wish me luck!

Here is a selection of images taken over the past few months, a combination of Kodak and Fuji films.
