Copenhagen through the iPhone

No matter how many times I visit Copenhagen, the city never ceases to amaze me.

Highlights from my ten days in Copenhagen include: beers at Mikkeller & Friends, my favourite Danish microbrewery; a train ride along the Øresund coast to visit the new M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark; dinner at Bæst, an Italian-inspired restaurant run by notable chef Christian Puglisi; brunch at Møller Kaffe og Køkken with my lovely Swedish friend; pink interiors at Kaibosh, a new Scandinavian eyewear concept; afternoon drinks in the sunshine with my Danish family at Kølster's Tolv Haner, a cozy bar on Rantzausgade; a trip up the Rundetårn for old times' sake; partying at Distortion, by far the most unique music festival in the world; exploring idyllic Christianshavn; sampling everything at Copenhagen Street Food, a fantastic food vendor concept on PapirØen; and finally, a life-affirming dinner at Den Røde Cottage in beautiful Klampenborg.

Copenhagen in 35mm

I recently spent ten days living like a local in my favourite city, where the weather was unseasonably beautiful and the summer-feeling contagious. It was pure magic.

Our itinerary: walks through Superkilen, my favourite urban park close to our Nørrebro flat; a day trip along the Øresund to Helsingør and Humlebæk to sightsee and visit museums; sun tanning by the canals in Christianshavn, where we witnessed noma chef Rene Redzepi water his microgreens (!!!); well-deserved margaritas at the new Copenhagen Street Food on PapirØen; and a once in a lifetime culinary experience at Den Røde Cottage, a Michelin Star restaurant situated in the ethereal Danish countryside. A perfect holiday.
