Los Angeles in 35mm

As I sit here in quarantine, I can’t help but reminisce about my bachelorette weekend in Los Angeles this past February. Eight of my closest friends and I rented an Airbnb in the heart of Venice, steps away from Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Not one for your “typical” bachelorette drinking activities - mainly because I am just too old to weather a hangover with dignity - we spent the weekend window shopping on Abbot Kinney, eating very well at Gjelina, Scopa, and Butcher’s Daughter (to name a few), hiking Los Leones in the Pacific Palisades, and exploring DTLA and Little Tokyo, my favourite neighbourhoods in the city. On our final day in LA, we journeyed over to Malibu for a Malibu Wines Safari, where we sipped local Californian wine amongst animals named after celebrities - you can’t get more LA than that! The weather in LA was perfect, and the weekend was a much-needed respite from Toronto’s never-ending winter.

These photos were taken on Kodak Portra 400 in Los Angeles, Malibu, and Manhattan Beach.

Liz on Film

I recently had the honour of photographing my friend and fellow photographer Liz Davidson at LOVT Studio this past November. Liz is a talented photographer with a natural eye for portraiture and light. Her creativity with photography never ceases to inspire me.

These images were taken with Kodak Portra 400 on my Canon EOS 7 in natural light.
