Christmas may be over, but the city continues to embrace the holiday spirit. Recently I stopped by Evergreen Brickworks to visit the Winter Village before it's close at the end of the year. Despite the freezing temperatures in Toronto these past few days, my afternoon hike through the property was a lovely respite from the couch. Evergreen Brickworks is one of my favourite places in the city to photograph, as each season offers a new perspective - whether that be a different viewpoint or the changing foliage.
Florine Stettheimer
Florine Stettheimer was a female American painter and poet from the early 20th century. Born and raised in New York City, she flourished during the Jazz Age, with her colourful paintings speaking to the lavish, epicurean lifestyle she so greatly lived. December's AGO Next event featured Stettheimer's new show at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Painting Poetry, and provided insight on the concept and creation of an art exhibition. On until January 28th, I highly recommend a visit to view Florine's modern and emotive work.
