Summer in Toronto. A fleeting three months of sunshine, humidity, and endless things to do. This past summer was one of my favourites; the weather was near perfect and every weekend held a new adventure, whether it be a festival, a concert, a new restaurant, or an art exhibition. As is typical with Toronto summers, it ended way too soon, and here we are now on the cusp of December with a long and cold winter ahead.
Some of my favourite moments of summer '16: trying new craft beer at Bandit Brewery, Batch, and Shawn & Ed Brewing Co.; indulging in charcuterie boards and crusty bread while picnicking in Riverdale Park; tasting the infamous vegan Big Mac from Doomie's at the Toronto Vegan Food Festival; catching this year's Gladstone Grow-Op, Vilhelm Hammershøi, Lawren Harris, and Franz Erhard Walther exhibitions at the Gladstone Hotel, AGO, and Power Plant, respectively; road tripping to Dundas, Ontario and Niagara-on-the-Lake; and a long weekend getaway to Las Vegas with my family.
