Two years ago, my family and I went to the Hawaiian islands of Maui and Oahu for Christmas. We began in Maui, where we explored the Lahaina waterfront and journeyed up the Road to Hana, one of the most beautiful winding roads in the world. A two hour trek, we stopped for fresh coconuts right off the tree, drove through a wild bamboo forest, and saw beautiful rainbow eucalyptus trees. It was pure paradise.
We ended our trip in Oahu, at the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore. We drove around the island, stopping in Honolulu to see the infamous Waikiki Beach, and touring through Pearl Harbour. I also learned how to surf - on the first day of the year no less!
Hawai'i is just beautiful.
